SECTION 7. DUTIES OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS:
The Board of Directors shall carry out the purpose and objectives of the association by transacting its business and enforcing its rules and regulations under the direction, and with the approval, of the membership as specified herein. The Board shall consist of two or more members with one half rotating off and being replaced by a new member each year. The membership decides on the total number of board members. The term of a board member is two years. Officers are voting members of the Board of Directors.

POINTS AND AWARDS
2. In order to qualify for year-end awards, an exhibitor member must assist with ground work at a PHA Benefit Show or show at a PHA Benefit Show, or Sponsor a class for a PHA Benefit Show.

SPECIAL AWARDS
PHA SUPER HORSE AWARD. Awarded to the horse with the highest cumulative point total for the year. Points earned in every PHA class shall be added together to establish the point total of the winning horse. Horse must compete in individual class 40% to receive points.

NOVICE RIDER and NOVICE HORSE QUALIFICATION
A novice rider or novice horse is one that has not received more than five (5) first place awards (other than halter) from any association prior to January 1 of the current year.
B. A Novice Rider Form or Novice Horse Form must be completed and be on file with the Points Secretary for points to count for Year End Awards.
C. Novice Rider points will count toward divisional awards.

SHOW RING ATTIRE
Hunt Seat: Hunt coats of traditional hunt seat style and conservative color, English riding shirt with choker and conservative color , breeches of traditional shades of buff, gray or rust (or jodhpurs), high English boots or jodhpur shoes. Black, navy blue or brown hunting cap is mandatory. A tie or choker is suggested. Spurs of the unrowelled type, crops or bats are optional. Hair must be neat and contained (as in net or braid). Judges must penalize contestants who do not conform.

Reserved Number Program 
Project Chairman Responsibilities

The project chairman for the reserved number program has the following responsibilities:

1. Make information available to PHA participants as to how they can participate.
a. New/potential/previous participants
i. Flyers and leaflets for posting at shows and other events
ii. Newsletter announcements
iii. Web site announcements
iv. Promotion at PHA meetings
v. Word of mouth
vi. Other __________________
b. Previous participants
i. Reminder cards at beginning of year
ii. Phone calls and/or other personal contact if appropriate

2. Collect fees ($15/number/year (laminated) or ($10/number/year (not laminated) for the reserved numbers and forward those fees to the treasurer of the PHA
3. Maintain a record of program participants and their selected numbers.
4. Print (heavy card stock) and laminate (heavy) two copies of each reserved number and distribute to program participants.
a. The treasurer of the PHA will reimburse the program chairman (Up to $50 annually) for any necessary supplies and/or materials used (card stock, printer cartridges, laminate, etc) if the request is accompanied by sales receipts. 
5. Serve as liaison between the PHA and show managers that agree to honor our reserved numbers (remember, their cooperation is voluntary)
a. Contact (e-mail, mail, etc) each show manager two weeks prior to the show with an up to date list of participants so that they can “pull” reserved numbers to prevent their “accidental” use by other than the individual that reserved that number.
b. Have flyers and/or other lists available for posting at the show entry booth to explain the program.
c. Have multiple copies of program signup sheets available at the entry booth
d. Coordinate with show mangers (if possible) for collection of fees.
